The Green Isle Lions Club was chartered in September 1972. And has a rich history of service to our community and humanitarian service. Today, over 45 members work together to serve our community in a multitude of ways The Green Isle Lions Club is part of Lions Club International, the largest and most active service club in the world. Lions Club International was founded by Chicago insurance man Melvin Jones in 1917. Lions Club International now has nearly 1.5 million members in 43,000 clubs in 183 countries and geographic areas. Lions Club International is divided into districts. Our Club is located in district 5M-2 which is part of Multiple District 5M. District 5M includes all of Minnesota, Manitoba and Northwest Ontario. There are 12 Districts within 5M. Geographically, District 5M-2 is made up of 12 south central Minnesota counties: Blue Earth, Carver, Faribault, Freeborn, LeSueur, McLeod, Nicollet, Rice, Scott, Sibley, Steele and Waseca. There are about 2,800 members in 66 clubs in District 5M-2. |

LIONS HAVE FUN
Membership is open to any adult man or woman. Membership is by invitation and sponsorship. Contact a Lion Member to provide more information. We certainly welcome you to our group. The Green Isle Lions Club meets regularly on the 1st and 4th Mondays of each month at the Green Isle Community Room. The first Monday of the month is a dinner and program meeting. The fourth Monday is a business meeting. The meetings are at 8p.m. To the Lions, "We Serve" is not only a motto, but philosophy and our reason for being. |
